Brooklyn Watches are built in Brooklyn and Claverack, New York, by David Sokosh and are available only through this website or in person at the Brooklyn Flea. They are part of an exclusive group of mechanical watches built in America. Almost 500 of them have been produced since the company started in 2009. Each watch is marked with a unique serial number. All are powered by vintage 17 jewel, manual wind pocket watch movements that were created in the 1960’s and 70’s by Unitas in Switzerland. Brooklyn Watches never need batteries. To keep them running, simply wind them each day. Because they contain vintage pocket watch movements, these watches are larger than average wrist watches. Cases range from 41 to 48 mm across. Brooklyn Watches combine vintage movements with contemporary cases, dials, hands and straps. Prices range from $950 to $2000 with most models priced around $1200.
