Brooklyn Watches are built in Brooklyn and Claverack, New York, by David Sokosh and are available only through this website and in person at special events. They are part of an exclusive group of mechanical watches built in America. Just over 500 of them have been produced since the company started in 2009. Each watch is marked with a unique serial number. All are powered by vintage 17 jewel, manual wind pocket watch movements that were created in the 1960’s and 70’s by Unitas in Switzerland. Brooklyn Watches never need batteries. To keep them running, simply wind them each day. Because they contain vintage pocket watch movements, these watches are larger than average wrist watches. Cases range from 41 to 48 mm across. Brooklyn Watches combine vintage movements with contemporary cases, dials, hands and straps. Prices range from $950 to $2000 with most models priced around $1200. There are twelve models shown on the Watches page. I try to show models that are available for sale. There has been great interest in the watches lately and 10 out of twelve watches shown are sold. There is usually the possibility to email a request to be put on a waitlist. At present I estimate a three month turnaround on waitlisted watches. I hope to catch up and have a full selection of watches available for immediate purchase in the fall.
